My two older kids fight. A lot.
Earth shattering, isn't it? I STILL fight with my sister and we are how old, again? Maybe that is where they get it or maybe it is because God made siblings to have someone to argue with other than parents. Hmm.
Anyway, most days mine are at each other over little things like looking at each other and breathing. They bicker at the breakfast table, in the car, while in line at the grocery store and Mom's personal fave...from the farthest points in the house. Example-one is upstairs in her corner bedroom and one is downstairs in the pantry and they are STILL ARGUING.
Occasionlly they play nice though and this afternoon they discovered an incredibly FUN and potentially DANGEROUS thing to do together-fly down the big hill in front of our house on small wheeled vehicles with feet up in the air and screaming bloody murder.
Remember such good times? I didn't have my camera and had a Blue Moon in me and couldn't run fast enough to go get it so you will just have to develop your own mental snapshot of such cuteness.
So I tell them to wrap it up and come in for our Friday night ritual of bath/pizza/movie. They start walking back up the hill, carrying their respective bikes, when I see it. D turns to GoGo and says "Here, before we go in-put your hand out." She obliges and he slaps her some skin and tells her "Now your turn." He puts his hand out and she returns the favor.
Then he says, "Cool, a high five together."
Wow.Is.All.I.Could.Think.
It may seem trivial but for my two who seem like they genuninely don't like each other some days, this was a BIG MOMENT. Especially for D to initiate it. Good stuff.
Almost made me want to call my sister and High Five her over the phone. But we've already talked three times today.
